The Austrian theologian Wilhelm Dantine once described the Protestant diaspora situation in following Christ as a “Protestant adventure in a non-Protestant environment”. Being a minority corresponds to the reality of life for most Protestants in Europe and worldwide. However, this volume attempts to overcome this often negatively evaluated understanding of diaspora and to rethink it affirmatively as “shaping the fullness of relationships in the sense of following Christ”.

“Theology of Diaspora” summarizes the results of a multi-year study process initiated by the Community of Protestant Churches in Europe (CPCE) at its plenary assembly in Florence. In three parts, the bilingual volume is dedicated to the history of the concept of diaspora up to the present day, the biblical understanding of diaspora and diaspora theology in the 21st century.
